Meet Thavma Yoga’s Newest 30-Day Challenge Survivor: Baileigh Davis
Had you practiced yoga before coming to Thavma Premium Hot Yoga? If so, what other Styles of Yoga had you practiced?
I have never done yoga before. I called my mother on a Saturday morning and she told me she was trying out a yoga class at a new studio that just opened. She asked me if I would like to come. I only had 20 minutes to get ready and meet her there. Thankfully the studio was so close to my house! I did not realize it was hot yoga. But I had an amazing time!
What made you decide to do Thavma Premium Hot Yoga’s 30-Day Challenge?
After the first class, my mother and I were sitting in the common area cooling down. The owners informed us of an amazing deal they had going on. It was an Introductory Offer for $55 a month unlimited classes! I went 6 days straight when Marina informed me of the 30 Day Challenge. I decided I accept the challenge.
What did you want to accomplish from your 30 Day Challenge?? Did you achieve your goal?
At first I did not know what I wanted to accomplish. I just liked going to the classes and pushing myself a little bit more each class. After a while I decided I really wanted to make sure my alignment and postures were 100% correct. The instructors are great about making sure this happens. They will kindly correct you if you aren’t, so you can learn. I was focusing on myself in the class and nothing else. I was pretty flexible before I started, but now I can do movements I never thought I’d be able to do. Thavma Premium Hot Yoga has made me grow into a more confident person. I don’t feel judged when working out there. The instructors are so kind and friendly it’s like a little family!
What changes did you see during and after your 30 days of Thavma Yoga?
The biggest difference I saw was my appetite. I am more hungry than normal because my metabolism is working harder due to the Thavma Yoga. My body temperature feels warmer. My leg muscles are starting to become defined again! I just feel better and have a sense of wellbeing I didn’t have before.
What did you learn/gain from doing Thavma Yoga regularly?
I was able to really understand the postures and memorize how to do them correctly. My metabolism started working really well making me hungry, but I was losing weight. Muscles that I never used before are now more defined. I grew more confident and overcame insecurities. I am more confident. I took the 90-minute Hot 26+2 yoga class 14 times. And the 60-minute Silent Hot 26+2 yoga class 3 times. My flexibility, balance and strength have improved significantly. I feel great! Some days were harder than others and that was the challenge. My balance, energy, or something may have been a little off. As Magdalena would say, “do not judge yourself”. I started listening to her and it made a difference. I would try harder the next day.
What did you love most from doing the Challenge?
It motivated me to work out for 30 days. I loved the results I was seeing, how the instructors where so kind.
What’s your favorite posture?
I have learned to love all of the postures but Eagle Pose, or Tree Pose are my favorites!
What do you think about Thavma Premium Hot Yoga?
The studio is beautiful! The studio is so nice and clean and smells really good. The mirrors are great to be able to see if you are doing the postures correctly and look at your alignment. The location is conveniently located and makes it easy for my mother and me to work out and spend time together.
