Meet Thavma Yoga’s 60 Day Challenge survivor: Kate Enis
Tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Kate Enis and I am a new instructor here at Thavma. I am also a licensed massage
therapist and have been a certified classical Pilates teacher since 2004.
Had you practiced yoga before coming to Thavma Bikram Yoga?
I had only done a handful of yoga classes before coming to Thavma and had tried the Bikram method
a few years ago when I was living in Fort Lauderdale.
What made you decide to do the 60 Day Challenge?
I started the teacher training program here at Thavma in late February and thought it would be the
perfect time to start a challenge. I wanted to immerse myself into the program as much as possible and
spend as much time as not only studying the sequence but doing it as well.
What did you want to accomplish from your 60 Day Challenge?? Did you achieve your goal?
I really just wanted to physically challenge myself but it ended up being more of a mental challenge for
me. I completed the challenge and achieved even more than I set out to accomplish.
What changes did you see during and after your 60 days of Hot yoga?
It was a rollercoaster for me throughout the challenge. I had good days and rough days. The biggest
change I noticed was that I began to feel more clarity and calmness within myself.
What did you learn/gain from doing Thavma Yoga regularly?
I learned that however much I get out of my yoga practice is dependent on how much I put in to my yoga practice
and a regular practice can be life changing if you allow it to be.
What did you love most from doing the Challenge?
What I loved most was how I felt when it was completed.
What’s your favorite posture?
Camel
What is your least favorite posture?
Locust
What do you think about our studio?
From the first time I came to Thavma I knew it was something special. Thavma has become a second
home to me and I am so grateful to be a part of the Thavma family!
