Tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Paula Bell…. I’m 40 years old, business owner (hair stylist at the gallery salon). I’m a proud “single” mother of a wonderful 12 year old boy and my 2 fur babies! I’m an athlete and love to compete in races…marathons, 13.1, 5K’s, and mud obstacle races. All my friends tell me I’m a different breed when it comes to training. Lol.
Have you done other styles of yoga?
I never did a yoga class Ever until I started Bikram. I always thought yoga would be to boring for me so I jumped into Bikram and WOW! I Love it! The hotter the better!
What made you decide to take your first Bikram Class?
Curiosity… Just wanted to see what this hot yoga thing was all about.
Why did yo choose Thavma Bikram Yoga Studio?
It is convenient for me and when I went for the first time I was hooked! Marina is the bomb! The studio is awesome!
What was your first Bikram yoga experience like?
My first Bikram experience was a few years ago. I found it challenging because being a runner for all these years, my hips and hamstrings were extremely tight.
What makes you come back?
The Challenge! I will conquer “Pigeon”!
How long have you been practicing?
Consistently about a year now.
What changes have you seen since you began the practice?
My hamstrings aren’t as tight, my hips are opening up more. Bikram has increased my flexibility and endurance so much! Improving my PR when I race for sure!
Where have you seen that it helps you?
Balance… Endurance…strength…. Flexibility all have improved.
What is your favorite pose?
Bird of Paradise!
What is your least favorite pose?
Pigeon…. I won’t stop until I master this pose!
What do you like most about Thavma Bikram Yoga?
Everything! Mostly, My Favorite instructor Marina, and how she challenges me! She always corrects my form when needed! I wouldn’t be in the best physical shape of my life without her and Thavma Bikram Yoga!
