March Student of the Month: How Lisa Lost 15 Pounds, Built Strength, and Found Her Power at Thavma


At Thavma , transformation doesn’t happen overnight. It happens through consistency, courage, and showing up for yourself again and again.

That’s exactly what Lisa Grow, our March Student of the Month, has done.

What first brought you to Thavma Yoga,and what were you struggling with in

your body at the time?

I always wanted to try Yoga but never got around to doing it. When I met
someone who was taking classes at Thavma they highly recommended trying
it. I had just finished therapy for a tear in my hamstring from running, so I
decided to give up running and try something new.

What’s one surprising result you’ve noticed since starting? (Physical change,

confidence, or mindset shift?)

I have seen a change in my body and have lost 15lbs since starting yoga and
my body is more toned.

Which Thavma Yoga class; Thavma Method™, Premium 26+2 or Phoenix

Method is your favorite,and why?

I have participated in all the classes, and I like them all, however Thavma Red
is my favorite. I love that it is a full body workout and stretching throughout the
class. It is a great detox for my body and always challenging.


What’s the biggest difference between Thavma and other workouts you’ve

tried?

Taking these classes has made me eat healthier and not have the sugar
craving I once had. Plus, my body feels good after class compared to my body
feeling stiff after running.


If you could tell someone on the fence about trying Thavma one thing, what

would it be?

There is no judgement at Thavma everyone is friendly, helpful, and makes you
feel comfortable. It has been life changing for me.

 

What do you feel in your body after class, three words only?

Revitalized, Detoxified, and Strong

 

How has the Thavma community impacted you outside of the yoga room?I have been coming to Thavma for 4 years. Thavma has impacted me beyond
the Yoga room by shaping the way I show up in my everyday life. I’m so

grateful that I came to Thavma

 

What’s one pose or movement you never thought you’d do,but now can

because of Thavma?

The wheel, Thavma has helped me build the strength and flexibility to do this

pose.

What personal goal are you working on next at Thavma?

Strengthened my gluts and balance
