The Light Was Always There
Share
Every teacher training, I witness the same quiet magic.
A room full of women walk in on day one…
nervous, unsure, excited… but holding back.
You can feel it.
The hesitation.
The self-doubt.
The stories they’ve been carrying for years.
And then, slowly… everything begins to shift.
Layer by layer, the walls start to come down.
The insecurities.
The fear of being seen.
The voice that told them they weren’t ready.
It starts to dissolve.
And what’s left… is who they actually are.
Strong.
Capable.
Powerful.
Radiant.
I see it before they do.
Always.
Sometimes it takes a few years for them to finally take the leap,
after encouragement, after nudging, after being reminded again and again…
But when they do… it’s like watching something awaken.
One of my favorite moments, every single time,
is watching them teach their first class.
Still a little shaky.
Still a little scared.
But they do it anyway.
And something clicks.
They hear their voice.
They feel their presence.
They realize… “I can actually do this.”
And then it shifts—deeper.
They realize their voice has power.
That they can lead.
That they can hold space.
That they can move people…
the way they were once moved.
And that kind of confidence…
changes everything.
But it’s not just about teaching.
It’s the way they begin to carry themselves differently.
Standing taller.
Moving with intention.
Understanding their body in a way they never have before.
Muscles that were asleep… wake up.
Patterns that caused pain… start to shift.
Confidence that felt out of reach… becomes embodied.
And then there’s the part that always gets me.
The bonds.
Women who walked in as strangers…
leave as a support system.
Uplifting each other.
Seeing each other.
Reminding one another of their light… on the days they forget.
And our team… standing beside them the entire way,
holding the standard, but also holding belief.
Because sometimes… people just need someone to see it in them first.
And every year, I’m reminded....
I don’t just teach them.
They teach me too.
About courage.
About timing.
About what happens when a woman decides she’s ready.
Ready to stop playing small.
Ready to trust herself.
Ready to step into something she once thought was “for other people.”
And then becomes her.
The light was always there.
They just needed the space… to see it.
With so much love,
Marina 🤍
Not everything needs to be overthought.
Sometimes… you just feel it.
And if you did
this is where you go next.
